Description 

Hearst's Mag, Oct 1916, with dedication by Buffalo Bill's friend, William Bell and his son, Leonard Cody Bell. Inside, starting on page 244, is a story of Buffalo Bill "The Great West that Was. Buffalo Bill's Life Story by Col. William F. Cody" illustrated by Newell Convers Wyeth. This was part of a serial autobiography in the Hearst's Magazine from Aug 1916 to July 1917. The hand-written dedication on the front says:

For my Dear Sweet Little Frances Mary When she gets Large Girl so she can read and understand the Great Life on the American Prairies in Early Day. From Grandpa Bell. "June 3rd 1924" History of Buffalo Bill (Wm F, Cody) Grandpa's Friend and Uncle Leonard Cody Bell

The magazine measures about 10 1/2 inches by 14 inches.

Condition is good for its age. The cover is loose and worn on the edges. Pages are a little brown.
